Attempts were made to save an elderly man’s life before he tragically died on the street.
Several eyewitnesses told how they saw 999 crews attend the scene after the 80-year-old was discovered unconscious on a footpath near Auchinairn Road which runs between Glasgow and Bishopbriggs just after midnight today.
One local, who did not want to be named, told the Glasgow Times he reported seeing an attempt to resuscitate the man.

A local business owner also confirmed one of his customers had witnessed CPR being carried out on the man.
Police, however, would only confirm that the man died at the scene shortly after emergency services arrived.
The force did not reveal the identity of the man.

On Monday morning, a forensic tent was erected while police sealed off a section of Auchinairn Road between Woodhill Road and Glendale Drive in the area near Bishopbriggs to investigate the death which they described as “unexplained”.
Residents reported the crime scene as “unusual” in their quiet neighbourhood and most were surprised by the scene when they woke up to it in the morning.
One resident told The Glasgow Times she didn’t hear any disturbance and said: “It’s very unusual for the area.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 12.20am on Monday, June 13, 2022, police received a report of an unresponsive male on a footpath near Auchinairn Road, near the junction of Woodhill Road, Bishopbriggs.
“Emergency services attended and the 80-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service was contacted for comment.
