A GLASGOW steakhouse is offering to help customers pay for taxis home as dinnertime trains are cancelled.
While ScotRail is operating a reduced timetable, with many evening services being cancelled, steak restaurant Gaucho in the city centre is offering to contribute £10 to their customers' taxi fare.
They decided to offer the gesture for the entire month of July so that guests can enjoy eating out without worrying about rushing home to catch the earlier trains.
All they need to do is show restaurant staff a valid train ticket for the exchange.
Martin Williams, CEO of Rare Restaurant, said: “At a time when the restaurant sector faces headwinds such as wage and food inflation, the last thing any restaurant business needs is guests leaving at 7pm to catch the last train home!
"So we have decided to pay for our guests' cabs home throughout July.
"Hopefully Scotrail will restore services to normal very soon and we will see the end of the mass early exodus from Glasgow Central.”
