A GLASGOW cafe has announced it is closing temporarily over the summer.
Popular Southside ice cream spot Newlands Cafe in Shawlands told their customers that they would be taking a break to 're-charge' after working so hard during the pandemic.
A post read: "We really appreciate your custom and have been working hard over the last couple of years to operate the business as normal, so hard, in fact, we shall be taking a break this July to recharge our batteries."

The cafe will be closed from Saturday, July 9 until Friday, July 22.
The team added that they were looking forward to seeing their customers again soon and said: "A massive thank you to all our wonderful customers for your continued custom and support."
Loyal customers shared their thoughts on the closure, saying the staff's break was 'well-deserved'.
One wrote: "Have a good break. We’d better get the ice-cream stocked up!"
Another said: "Well deserved. Just enjoy and recharge."
One customer commented: "Enjoy your very well-deserved break although I don’t know how I’m going to survive without my delicious daily coffee."
