A MAN has been attacked in broad daylight near a busy city centre chip shop.
A police presence was spotted outside the Blue Lagoon on Gordon Street in Glasgow on Sunday evening.
Local community groups on social media told that police tape and a partition were put in place around the area while officers stood guard.
In photos shared with the Glasgow Times, cops can be seen surrounding the takeaway.
The force confirmed that they had responded to a report of an assault near the Blue Lagoon at around 5.35pm.
The man has been taken to hospital and officers are now investigating the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Around 5.35pm on Sunday, July 10, 2022, police received a report of a man being assaulted in Gordon Street (near the Blue Lagoon) in Glasgow.
"Police attended and the man was taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing."
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
