A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital following a serious assault in Kirkintilloch.
The incident happened at around 11.55pm on Thursday night at an address in the Townhead area.
A 41-year-old woman was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious injuries as a result of the attack.
Officers are now appealing for information and are keen to trace two men who were spotted at the scene.

Detective Inspector Kenneth McDonald said: "A woman sustained serious injuries as a result of this incident and we are asking anyone who may have seen the two men or have any information to get in touch.
"Anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries is also asked to contact police.
"If you can assist officers then please call us on 101, quoting incident number 4315 of Thursday, July 21, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
The two suspects are described as being in their late teens with dark hair.
The first was wearing a dark jacket and shorts with a cap.
The second suspect was wearing a light blue t-shirt.
