A WOMAN has been left ‘terrified’ after being followed home by a ‘predator’ in Glasgow.

After recently spending the evening at a friend’s house in the Pollok area, the woman decided to walk home along Corkerhill Road after being unable to get a taxi.

However, she soon began to feel on edge and sensed that someone was behind her.

She said: “I felt like I was being followed and turned around to see a guy in a large black car driving slowly right next to me with his window down and he was shouting stuff out the window.

“I just ignored it at first but he was intensely staring which was really freaking me out so I just stopped, hoping he would drive off and leave me alone.

“I had a gut feeling that he was going to drive off and wait for me to walk further up the main road, so I stopped and waited.

“Unfortunately, after driving off he did then drive back towards where I was, and I could see him looking about to see where I was.”

The scared young woman began panicking when, while trying to hide from the man, she saw that he had stopped his car in the middle of the road and had rolled his windows down to stare at her.

She began to worry that he would step out of the car and chase her, so she began shouting at him.

She then ran towards a housing estate where she then safely met two of her friends but added that the man continued to follow her into the street.

She said: “I feel like the guy in the car got a bit caught off guard with me shouting but quickly started his car again, turned it around and drove into the housing estate I ran into to follow me again.”

The woman said she has since reported the incident to the police, who she claims are investigating reports of a ‘predator’ looking for women walking alone late at night.

She added: “Police said they have reason to believe it’s a predator looking for lone females late at night and I’m not the only person to report a similar car and driver description.

“A few girls have reached out to me to say they have had the same experience in the same area.

“It really is a horrible thing and I hope the guy gets caught.”

Police Scotland was contacted for comment.
