It’s the first time ever the festival will take place on the outskirts of the city with the best of Glasgow’s culinary talent set to attend.
Famous faces taking part include Peter Mckenna from the Gannet, Salt and Chilli owner Jimmy Lee, Masterchef Champion Gary MacLean and Graeme Cheevers whose restaurant Unalome was recently awarded one of only two Michelin stars in the city.
Cheevers said: “Foodies Festival coming to Glasgow is fantastic news.
“To have the festival on our doorstep celebrating the best of the region and its produce is a real plus.
“I am looking forward to cooking live in the Chefs theatre and enjoying the festival experience.”
Pete McKenna added: “I’m really excited to bring a taste of what I do at The Gannet to the Foodies Festival this weekend.
“It’s great to cook alongside my friends and contemporaries in Scotland's brilliant food scene.”
Providing entertainment while festival-goers eat and drink their way through the weekend will be an incredible collection of musical acts including Toploader, 90s legends N-Trance and Scottish star Callum Beattie.

Toploader, who are best known for their 2009 cover of Dancing In the Moonlight, said: “We are properly excited to be performing at this year's Foodies Festival at Rouken Glen.
“What more could a band want than a stage to perform on in a beautiful setting, with awesome food and free-flowing drinks in the sunshine?
"Bring it on and see you there.”
As expected, there will be plenty of culinary treats available to purchase at the festival with a ‘Shopping Village’ showcasing the finest artisan produce from over 150 exhibitors.
Foodies of all ages are welcome to attend too with a Kids Cookery School offering arts and crafts, a mini funfair and face painting based around a 'Ninjas Love Noodles' theme.
