Residents are being asked about their views on new green spaces in a Glasgow neighbourhood.

Glasgow City Council is holding a consultation for locals in Germiston to have their say about plans to improve local open spaces.

People can share their opinions on the creation of a new football pitch and playpark area for Barmulloch Primary School and the wider community, improvements to the footpath network, a community food growing area, and more.

The drop-in session will also be an opportunity to discuss antisocial behaviour in the region.

It will be held between 1.30pm and 5pm on Tuesday, August 30, at Barmulloch Primary School.

Councillor Allan Casey said: “For many years the residents of Germiston have been asking for investment in the local area, especially in creating a local playpark for the kids.

“I have worked hard over the last year to try and secure funding to create a brand new green space.

"I am delighted that so far we have managed to secure an initial £134,000 which will help to create a new purpose-built multi-use games area to replace the old red ash school pitch and look to create a high-quality green space with new children’s play equipment and improved access paths.

“I would encourage as many local residents to come along to the public drop-in session and help shape a space that the local community can be proud of. “
