EMERGENCY services have evacuated a supermarket petrol station.
We reported that the roads were closed at the Morrisons supermarket in Hamilton due to a police incident.
Officers confirmed that they were assisting the fire brigade with an evacuation of the petrol station area.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) told the Glasgow Times that they received a call at 11.58am to the petrol station after an issue was reported with one of the petrol pumps.
SFRS attended as a matter of precaution, and the area was confirmed as safe.
They have left the area, and the road has since re-opened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 12.50pm on Sunday, August 21, we were asked to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with an evacuation and road closure at Morrisons Petrol Station, New Park Street, Hamilton.
“The road reopened at 1.40pm.”
