A RIVER City star has praised the NHS and urged fans to look after their health after he was recently taken to hospital.
Iain Robertson, who plays Stevie O'Hara in the BBC soap, was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital last week with an infection.
The 41-year-old from Govan said the doctors and nurses took 'amazing care' of him.
He told fans on Twitter: "Found myself an unexpected guest of the NHS this week.
"Firstly I’d really like to thank the amazing nurses - they really were amazing btw - & the doctors & staff at the QEUH who took amazing care of me & so swiftly dealt with [the] problem."

Iain also admitted that he had been battling the recurring infection for years and was reluctant to go to the doctor.
But hours after going to his GP, he received an operation.
He added: "But also it’s worth saying to folk (particularly guys my age), that this was a recurring intermittent infection that I had been dealing with myself for (literally) years & not wanting to bother the doctor with.
"In a matter of hours from showing GP - I was on an operating table.
"GO SEE YER DOCTORS LADS!"
