Verdict: Five stars.
Did Coldplay just bring the greatest show on earth to Hampden?
Not only did the rockers make an impression on the Glasgow crowd from the get-go on the first of two nights at the city venue, but they also produced an eco-friendly concert packed with a kinetic dancefloor and energy-storing stationary bikes.
Opening up the Music of the Spheres tour with Higher Power, the quartet including singer Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, Scots bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion, managed to brighten up the national stadium with more than 50,000 lights.

Fans were given nifty watch-like devices before the concert which helped create the spectacular light show during the songs that followed, Adventure of a Lifetime and Paradise.
Charismatic Martin then beamed: “One day in the future your grandchildren are going to say to you…what was the loudest crowd you ever heard on a Tuesday?”
After confirming it was of course Glasgow, he then humbly said: “Thank you for making the effort to be here, especially on a weekday.
“In return we are going to give it all we got."
Scientist showed off the prowess of Martin’s vocals and reminded fans of why they are capable of commanding the attention of a stadium audience for not only one but two nights.
While Viva La Vida delighted the crowd before Hymn for the Weekend allowed Martin to show off his cheeky side.
Few performers can come to Hampden and really create something special in the way Coldplay did on Tuesday night.
Granted they have the hits to carry such a show, but the band’s energy was infectious.
They were a joy to watch on stage creating an impossible intimate experience in such a big arena.
Yellow proved to be a moment to remember with the stadium transforming into the golden colour for the song that first propelled the band into the spotlight in the early noughties.
While the smash with K-pop stars BTS My Universe bought the party atmosphere.
For A Sky Full of Stars, Martin ordered the crowd to live in the moment banning mobile phones as everyone danced around in the lights, and it was just magical.
A surprise duet with Scottish singer Edwyn Collins saw A Girl Like You get the Coldplay treatment.
And with a summer of outdoor music drawing to an end in the city, it is safe to say to Coldplay has delivered a show to remember.
