COPS have provided an update after a man was 'attacked' in Hamilton.
Officers were called to a report of an assault in Neilsland Street on Thursday, August 18.
A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital and remains there.
Police officers taped off the area of Neilsland Street while carrying out enquiries.
We previously reported that social media reports suggested that a stabbing took place, but police would not provide details.
Now the force has revealed that a 50-year-old man was arrested in connection to the alleged incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.30pm on Thursday, August 18, 2022, police received a report a man had been assaulted in Neilsland Street, Hamilton.
“The 40-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
“A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
