UPDATE: The new store will create 25 jobs in the city.
A MAJOR retailer is 'opening soon' in Glasgow city centre.
Signs have appeared in front of the former Next store on Argyle Street, which closed in January this year.
Prominent footwear store Deichmann will now occupy the empty unit.
The storefront is surrounded by barriers with signs of the shoe shop's logo and also reads 'opening soon'.
This comes after we reported that 'to let' signs had appeared at the Sauchiehall Street branch of the German store.
It is understood that bosses are in the process of recruiting for the new venue.
A job listing read: "Deichmann is extremely proud to announce its latest new store opening in Argyle Street, Glasgow."
