A MANHUNT has been launched after a man was hospitalised following a hit and run.
The 32-year-old was struck while walking on Imperial Drive in Airdrie in the early hours of Sunday, August 21.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.10am.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Cops are now probing the incident and trying to track down the driver, who fled the scene before they arrived.
They are also looking for a man who helped the victim before emergency crews came to assist.
DC Lisa McMullen of Coatbridge CID said: “We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
"In particular, if anyone has a dash cam, please check your footage as you may have captured something that could assist our investigation.
“We are also keen to trace a man who came to the assistance of the injured pedestrian but left before officers were at the scene. We would like him to get in touch.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0309 of August 21, 2021.”
