Glasgow's top cop has confirmed that a full police operation will be in place for Saturday's Celtic v Rangers showdown.
Celtic, who are currently top of the league with 15 points will welcome the Ibrox side, a close second, to Parkhead on Saturday, September 3 for the first derby fixture of the season.
And Greater Glasgow Police Division's Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland has promised his officers will be operating in the East End community to 'minimise disruption'.
Chief Superintendent Sutherland added that the force's goal for the operation will be to keep the public safe.
He said: "An appropriate policing plan is in place to maintain public safety and minimise any disruption to the community ahead of the Old Firm fixture at Celtic Park in Glasgow on Saturday, September 3.
"We continue to work closely with a range of partners ahead of the match, including both clubs.”
Rangers secured a comfortable win against Ross County at home in their last Premiership fixture, while Celtic beat Dundee Utd 9-0 at Tannadice Park.
