Devoted Glasgow brothers are desperate to buy their dying father his dream car.

Frank Brammer, known as Jay, is battling aggressive incurable prostate cancer which has now tragically spread to his spinal cord, lymph nodes and bones.

Now his sons Joseph, 23, and Christopher, 20, want to buy him a Lexus LS400 to remind Jay “he still has things to look forward to”.

They also want to “repay him for being an amazing dad” as the 49-year-old is a huge car enthusiast and has always wanted a luxury vehicle.

Joseph told the Glasgow Times: “It would mean everything to me and my brother to get him the car, it would feel like repaying him for being such an amazing dad.

“He is going through so much and he deserves this happiness, he has been in so much pain and this could uplift him.

“It would be so good to physically give him something as motivation to keep going and show him he still has life left to live and things to look forward to.

“He still has people around him and reason to keep living but I think this full thing has really damaged him mentally.

“We just want to help our dad while we still have him with us.”

Frank was first diagnosed with prostate cancer seven years ago but underwent aggressive treatment to get into remission.

Then sadly in February this year he was devastated to find out the cancer had spread through his body.

Now he is being cared for at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in an attempt to reduce the size of his cancer and prolong his life.

Despite his agony, Jay believes he could still enjoy short drives in the Lexus if they raised enough money.

The family have so far managed to raise more than £3,800 and are hoping to smash their £5,000 goal.

Joseph said: “We always went to car shows together and it was his dream to have this car.

“He lost his job because he was too sick to work so can’t afford to buy it himself.

“Having no income is hard but we have been so surprised by how kind and generous everyone has been.

“I couldn’t believe that we have raised over £3,000 already. It is amazing.

“I think we could get a used one for around £5,000 so we are getting close.

“He could still drive the car if we get enough soon, it would be good to be together as a family and go road trips again.”
