STUDENTS will be able to get a 50% discount on train tickets as ScotRail announces a return to term-time discount on rail fares.
From Monday, September 5, college and university students can take advantage of half-price off-peak tickets on services across Scotland.
The offer, which runs until Sunday, September 25, means students can get out for less, take a trip to a different city or catch up with friends before term starts.

There is no limit to the number of times students can buy tickets as part of the offer within the travel period.
Customers need a valid student ID when buying their ticket, which can be bought from a staffed station or onboard when travelling from an unstaffed station.
The offer is not available online and advance bookings are not required.

Lesley Kane, ScotRail commercial director, said: "Our half-price promotion has proven really popular with students in the past, so we’re proud to once again do our bit to help them make the most of Freshers Week and the start of term.
"Whether students are exploring Scotland before terms starts, going to university for the first time, or heading back to campus to resume their studies, we think this offer will provide a welcome boost to their finances at a time when we’re all feeling the pinch."
For Off-Peak Returns, travel is valid for up to one month which means the last date for return travel is October 24.
For Off-Peak Day Returns, outward and return travel must be completed in the same day.
