Glasgow Loves Christmas has issued a statement today after market organisers announced they would not return to the city centre.
The Glasgow Times previously reported that the Glasgow Christmas Market, operated by Market Place Europe, will not hold events at either George Square or the St Enoch Centre this year.

Following the news, a spokesperson for Glasgow Love Christmas, the city's festive programme run by Glasgow Life, said: "We are working on plans for Christmas and look forward to making announcements for this year in due course.”
It is still unclear as to whether today's update means no Christmas markets will take place in the city this year or if the events will be handled by a new organiser.
Glasgow City Council has been approached for further comment.
