The TS Queen Mary made for a marvellous sight yesterday as she made her way down the River Clyde.
Transported by two small tug boats, the vessel was spotted by our Glasgow Times photographer during the afternoon as she journeyed towards the Yorkhill Quay.
It was later confirmed that the nature of the voyage was so that a 'standard quay wall inspection' close to the Glasgow Science Centre could be carried out.
With the Waverly's berth currently vacant, as the steamer cruises the coast South of England, only the TS Queen Mary had to be relocated to a temporary berth.
A spokesperson for the Friends of TS Queen Mary said: "We are hoping that she will return tomorrow, or possibly Thursday.
"It will depend on the availability of the pilot/tugs and the weather, of course!"
The TS Queen Mary was launched in 1933 and is said to be the 'largest and most luxurious steamship ever built to serve Glasgow and the West of Scotland'.
