The team at Fat Hippo first announced they would open their first Glasgow location earlier this year, much to the delight of those keen to try their signature beef and buttermilk chicken burgers.

Now, we can reveal that the St Vincent Street spot will open its doors within a matter of days on Friday, September 16.
Michael Phillips, the company’s Managing Director, who founded Fat Hippo in the North East of England in 2010, said: “The countdown for Fat Hippo Glasgow is officially on.
"We’re so excited to open our doors on Friday 16th September.
“There’s been so much buzz about us coming to St Vincent Street and we’ve already felt so welcomed by the people of Glasgow!”
The new space will accommodate 75 diners with booking available now via the Fat Hippo website.
This is the 13th location in the UK for the independent chain who take pride in serving “roll up your sleeves and get it all over your face food”.
The restaurant will also work alongside Deliveroo to launch a delivery platform for indulgent treats like the Fat Hippo, a double beef burger topped with American cheese, smoked bacon, chorizo, onion rings and Fat Hippo sauce, as well as vegan options and sides including dirty fries.
