In the video, Capaldi can be heard saying: "Alright, My name's Lewis.
"I've not done an open mic in many a year."
He later stops his performance to say: "Right, before I sing this last chorus, I want to let everyone know that drinks are on me for the rest of the evening."
The statement is met by a cheer from the crowd with many singing along to the last of the song.
Earlier this week we reported that Capaldi's new track had reached number one in the UK trending charts just days after its release.
The Glasgow-born star also made the headlines for his tongue-in-cheek music video for the track which sees him reenact the instantly recognisable video for Club Tropicana by Wham!
BOX open mic nights take place every Tuesday night.
