The Buchanan Galleries Shopping centre has been evacuated this morning.
Shortly after 9am, crowds of people were seen gathered on Buchanan Street close to the Royal Concert Hall steps.

One eye witness told the Glasgow Times that an alarm could be heard coming from within the building although there was no immediate sign of emergency or distress.

It was later confirmed that the evacuation was part of a planned fire drill.
