A large police presence remains in place at the scene of an attempted murder in Easterhouse this morning.
Shortly before 10 pm last night, cops raced to Westerhouse Road on Drochill Way following a report of an attack.
A 53-year-old man was later taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for medical treatment.
Westerhouse Road remains closed between Auchinlea Road and Bogbain Road as investigations continue.
Photos taken at the scene today show the extent of a large police cordon in the area.
A bus sits stationary on the road while a blue car appears to have been abandoned on a nearby kerbside with its doors wide open.
One chilling image appears to show a bloodstained piece of fabric on the ground by the side of the vehicle.
At this time, there has been no further update on the man's condition.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At 9.50pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 officers received a report of an attempted murder at Westerhouse Road at Drochil Way in Glasgow.
"A 53-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.”
