GLASGOW-BASED production company Halo Arts have announced their fourth-annual community pantomime coming to the city this winter.
Sleeping Betty will run at Govan's Pearce Institute and Maryhill's Community Central Hall (CCH) this December and promises the audience a rip-roaring ride from start to finish.
The "proper Glesga panto" tells the story of Princess Betty who is born with great beauty and has a wonderful christening, but the evil fairy Deadly Nightshade is pure raging at not being invited and she curses Betty to prick her finger and die.

The show is from Halo Arts who have become known for their community events, youth theatre programme and work in schools across Glasgow and here will be a schools programme running throughout December which will reach more than 7000 primary school pupils across the city.
It is supported by Glasgow City Council, Maryhill CCH, The Pearce Institute, Elderpark Housing Association and Partick Housing Association.
Sleeping Betty has been written and produced by Halo Arts founder and artistic director Brendon McIlory while the show will be directed by Stephanie Falls.

Brendon said: "This will be the first year since 2019 that we’ll be able to realise our panto as it was intended without restrictions and cancellations.
"Thanks to the support of Glasgow City Council and both our venues- we are looking forward to our biggest panto run yet.
"The annual Halo Arts panto has always been about community, removing financial barriers and making panto accessible to those who might not be able to afford £30 per ticket.
"We keep our prices as low as possible and will be donating over 1000 seats this year to community groups and charities."
Sleeping Betty runs at the Pearce Institute from December 9 to 11 and at Maryhill CCH from December 17 to 20.
