FANS have praised Ian Brown for 'smashing' his Glasgow gig after being accused of 'butchering' his songs in a previous performance.

The Stone Roses frontman received some criticism for his show at the O2 Academy in Leeds on Sunday when he appeared without a backing band.

Disappointed gig-goers called the show a "karaoke act", with one saying: "I'm a lifelong fan but it was bad. Ian Brown does karaoke and butchers his own tunes."
