Glasgow Conservatives have branded Nicola Sturgeon's comment that she "detests the Tories" as nasty and "revealing".

The First Minister was asked in a TV interview if she would prefer a Tory or Labour government.

In response, she said: “If the question to me is would I prefer a Labour Government over a Tory government? I detest the Tories and everything they stand for, so It’s not difficult to answer that question."

Former Glasgow Tory MSPs were equally scathing and suggested it showed the 'real' Nicola Sturgeon.

Adam Tomkins ex Glasgow MSP said: “I’ve written before about how Sturgeon masks her hate and about how that mask slips with increasing frequency as the long years of government take their toll.

“Today it slipped again. It’s highly revealing.”
