LOCAL MP David Linden has raised money for two local charities by running the London Marathon.
The SNP MP for Glasgow East raised a total of £1140 to be split between My Life My Choice, which is based at the Glenburn Centre in Easthall, and Greater Easterhouse Supporting Hands (GESH) which is based in Garthamlock.
Linden, who took around five and a half hours to complete the marathon, said: "Although five and a half hours of relative pain and a couple of days later is one thing for me, the number of hours staff and volunteers put in at Glenburn Centre and at GESH is absolutely invaluable and really helps make such a positive impact for those who have a disability or a learning difficulty so it was a real privilege and honour to be able to fundraise for Glenburn and for GESH which I think are two wonderful causes."
