A free family fun day is coming to the East End this October break.

Shettleston 100, a project within Glasgow charity Fuse, will be hosting the event this Friday to give families a chance to enjoy free activities and meet others within the community.

Between 10am till 1pm, attendees will be able to take part in a range of activities from virtual reality devices and jewellery-making, to dressing up in the Halloween costume area.

Poppy Elliards, project coordinator of Shettleston 100, said: "After years of lockdowns we love taking every opportunity to welcome people back into Fuse for community events.

"Most of the activities are looking at ways we can reduce waste and reuse materials, whilst doing entertaining activities as a family.

"One of our Shettleston 100 partners, Glasgow Kelvin College, will be running some activities too."

Poppy added that activities will suit all ages and are a great way for attendees to learn what is on offer for young people at the youth centre.

There will also be free refreshments such as tea, coffee and juices.

The fun day will take place at the Fuse Youth Cafe in Shettleston, following the success of the project's summer fun days earlier this year.

Poppy said: "The feedback was brilliant so we thought why not keep this going in the October week.

"Families said they loved coming to a friendly, affordable space together which is suitable for children of various ages.

"For Fuse, it is great to open up our doors to the whole family to increase community engagement in our activities.

"We are really looking forward to having the families back into Fuse and hoping to see some old and new faces at the event."
