The Sun reports that the 79-year-old was in fine spirits as he spoke with fans outside the venue telling one: “It’s good to be in Glasgow".

Speaking previously to Castle Fine Art, Connolly said: “People think I paint or draw things on purpose.

“I don’t, I just draw.

"And then as it goes on, it becomes obvious what it’s going to be (to me).

“And then I can think about it along those lines: a horse, a man or a balloon.

"That’s when I name it, at the end."

Paintings on sale at the gallery include a collection of Scotty dog posters priced at just under £1500 each.
