A pair attacked a man with a weapon in Clydebank and then drove away.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Wood Quadrant, between 3am and 3.30am yesterday.

The 37-year-old man was taken to hospital after he sought the assistance of a passing motorist, who took him to a local police office.

He was then taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he was treated for a head injury and has since been discharged.

The alleged attackers are described as approximately 6ft in height, of medium to heavy build and wearing dark clothing, attacked the man with a weapon before driving off in the car towards Brown Avenue in a small silver hatchback car.

Detective Constable Ross Gemmell, Clydebank CID, said: “Although this attack happened in the early hours of the morning, I am sure that someone will have either seen or heard a disturbance in Wood Quadrant.

"I am keen to hear from anyone who may have information, including any dash-cam or doorbell footage, that could assist our investigation.”
