Police are investigating after offensive posters were put up in the city's Southside.

The Daily Record reports that neo-Nazis are responsible for the white nationalist posters.

The newspaper claims an activist associated with a group was sent away from Clarkston Road in Netherlee on Wednesday.

It is claimed he was caught putting up signs with a QR code linking to a racist chat group.

The poster bears the slogan "White Lives Matter".

Gerry Campbell took to Twitter to warn residents in the area, and Clarkston and East Renfrewshire.

He said: "I saw a guy around the age of 23 at the electrical boxes next to the bus stop on Clarkston Road at Linn Park.

"Originally thought he was an electrician, but as he had no high vis vest on or company vehicle I assumed he was just flyposting for a local business.

"I removed the laminated poster and asked if he was a Nazi. He said yes and 'we will soon be a minority' as in me, 'white people'. I subsequently informed him that he is in fact a minority as we don't have Nazi' here.

"At this point he made a swift exit in his car."

It is understood details of the vehicle were passed onto Police Scotland who are investigating.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of offensive posters being displayed on Clarkston Road, Glasgow, around 10pm on Wednesday, November 9.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 3929 of 9 November, 2022.”
