River City star Stephen Purdon has enjoyed some 'class scran' at a Glasgow restaurant after teasing a new project.

The actor, who has played series favourite Bob O'Hara for over 20 years in the soap, dined at Meat Joint Scottish Steakhouse in the city centre.

He shared a photo of their meal at the Sauchiehall Street restaurant which his friend labelled 'class scran'.

Glasgow Times:

It comes after Stephen revealed to his social media followers that he is working on "the first thing I've ever written".

He recently shared a group photo which included Two Doors Down star Grado and The View frontman Kyle Falconer.

He wrote: "Having the first thing I’ve ever written read out loud was a truly nerve-wracking experience, but one that was made easier by this cracking multi-talented bunch!"

Fans were quick to comment on their excitement at the mystery project, with one commenting: "So excited for you."

Another added: "You'll smash it fella!"

A third said: "Good luck I'm sure you'll do well, just don't leave River City."
