A major hotel company will soon open a new chain in Glasgow.

Adagio Glasgow Central is set to welcome guests to its stylish and modern new building in December.

With 162 rooms, the property will take on an aparthotel function with cooking facilities for guests.

Visitors can also take advantage of a gym, laundry room and guest library during their stay.

Glasgow Times:

Located on the banks of the River Clyde, the design of the hotel has been a collaboration with Glasgow Art School students and aims to capture Glasgow's industrial shipbuilding heritage with nautical designs.

Students have also taken inspiration from the designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and their interpretations of his iconic rose will be displayed in the rooms.

Glasgow Times:

A spokesperson said the aparthotel "aims to be a lively place in the city, a casual spot where Glaswegians and guests alike can meet in a relaxed atmosphere, all with Adagio’s high-quality furnishings and top standard of service."

A stone's throw from Glasgow Central station and St Enoch's underground station, the hotel is Adagio's eighth in the UK and joins Edinburgh's Royal Mile location as the only two in Scotland
