Cops locked down a street after a 'suspicious package' was found.
999 crews and the bomb squad were called to Mansion Court in Cambuslang on Tuesday night after receiving reports of a suspicious item in the area.
Images taken at the scene show a large police presence and EOD crews parked along the street.
Local reports claim that the package was found in a car and that incident response teams were urging residents to stay away from the area.
An eyewitness told Bylines Scotland: “We were told that it was a suspicious package in a car and that it would be disposed of, they told us it was parked near our house and as a result we were told to stay away from the front of the property.”
A man, aged 42, has since been arrested in connection.
Officers are continuing to investigate the alleged incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.20pm on Tuesday, November 15, officers were called to Mansion Court, Cambuslang where a suspicious package was discovered.
“EOD attended and made the item safe before removing it for examination.
“A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
"Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.”
