Forensics remain on the scene after a bomb squad was called late last night.
We previously reported that emergency services and EOD had been alerted to a report of a suspicious package in Cambuslang on Tuesday night.
A police cordon had been put in place while crews investigated, and local reports claimed a suspicious item was found in a car.

The item has since been removed, and a 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged incident.
On Wednesday afternoon, a forensic team could be seen examining the area as police tape remains in place.
Three officers were looking in a parked car while a camera and other equipment were positioned nearby.
Cops confirmed that they are continuing to investigate what happened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.20pm on Tuesday, November 15, officers were called to Mansion Court, Cambuslang where a suspicious package was discovered.
“EOD attended and made the item safe before removing it for examination.
“A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
"Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.”
