ALED Jones will join the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) for special Christmas performances of The Snowman to mark 40 years of the iconic film.
The Oscar and BAFTA-nominated animation based on Raymond Briggs’ 1978 picture book celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and the RSNO first performed Howard Blake’s score 20 years ago.
The annual festive event will return to Glasgow in December and will see The Snowman shown on the big screen, accompanied by the Orchestra and narrated by television and radio star Aled Jones whose recording of Walking in the Air has become synonymous with the festive period ever since its release in 1985.
The Orchestra will also perform a number of other seasonal favourites with a chance for everyone to sing along.
The RSNO Christmas Concert featuring The Snowman will be at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Saturday, December 17 at 2pm and 6pm.
