The Glasgow Crime Story of Lynda Spence
Financial advisor Lynda Spence endured 14 days of hell bound helplessly to a chair at the hands of her tormentors Colin Coats and Philip Wade.
Coats took her to the attic of a flat in West Kilbride, Ayrshire, bound her to a chair with tape, put tape over her mouth to stop her screams and placed glasses with taped-up lenses over her eyes.
They used an iron, a golf club, cigarettes and bolt cutters as Lynda sat blindfolded in terror and defenceless before killing her.

The Glasgow Crime Story of Arthur Thompson
He was Glasgow’s equivalent of Don Corleone, the fictional New York crime godfather immortalised in his portrayal by Marlon Brando.
Once, when giving evidence at the High Court in Glasgow, Arthur Thompson even joked about speaking with cotton wool in his mouth – a technique Brando used to sound like a mob boss.
For more than 30 years – until his death in 1993 – Thompson ruled Glasgow’s criminal underworld with an iron fist through his interests in extortion, money lending, illegal casinos, robbery, and drugs.

Years ago, one gang managed to strike fear into the hearts of Glaswegians. It was forged into one of the largest street gangs in UK history by one man – Billy Fullerton.
Often dressed in a smart three-piece suit, tie, and with a clean white handkerchief in his top pocket, he could easily have been taken for a businessman or a member of one of the professions.
