A person has died after police were called to a train station.
Transport officers and paramedics responded to a report of a casualty on the train line near Wishaw shortly before 8am on Tuesday morning.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances of the person's death.
We previously reported that the incident had prompted delays and cancellations as no services were running between Motherwell and Lanark.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line near Wishaw railway station at 7.50am this morning, November 29, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding their death."
