A man has been arrested following two alleged robberies in Glasgow this afternoon.

The Glasgow Times previously reported that a TSB bank on Kilmarnock Road in the city's Southside had reportedly been targeted at around 1.45pm.

Later, it was reported that a second alleged robbery had taken place at a Post Office on Dyke Road in Knightswood at around 3.45pm.

Police have now confirmed that the two cases are linked and that a 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incidents. 

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, December 13.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with two robberies in Glasgow on Monday, December 12.

“Police were called around 1.45pm to a report of a robbery at a bank in Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands.  

"Around 3.45pm police were called to a report of a robbery at a Post Office on Dyke Road, Glasgow.

"No one was injured during these incidents.

“He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, December 13.”
