A motor group have donated almost 500 bags of Christmas gifts for underprivileged kids in Glasgow.
Staff from Allied Vehicles, along with the company’s charitable trust, rallied up £4,500 worth of gifts, bought presents themselves and took part in staff fundraising to bring festive cheer to those suffering this year.
Allied Vehicles set up their charitable trust earlier this year to channel all their charity efforts and give £10,000 a month to good causes.
Allied Vehicles owner Gerry Facenna, said: “It’s all too easy for people to forget there are others who are less fortunate than themselves, especially at this time of year.
“So, we had no hesitation in using the Trust’s funding to bring a bit of a smile to the faces of youngsters who might have gone without this Christmas.”
The gifts have now been donated and delivered to the Health and Social Care Partnership premises in Possilpark.
Karen Russell, from Possilpark's social work department, said: "The generosity of Allied has been overwhelming.
"So many of our families and young people are struggling more than ever this year and to be able to help with so many amazing gifts has been fantastic.
“Such a difference has been made and we are so grateful for the support.”
Allied Vehicles Community Trust has previously given £2,000 to St Cuthbert’s Primary School to take pupils to the panto and has given £300 to the 212th Glasgow Boys Brigade in Bishopbriggs to go on a festive outing.
