Tributes have poured in for a Celtic super fan who has passed away aged 101.

Pasquale 'Peter' Ciarelli was born in 1921 and achieved the remarkable feat of attending Hoops games under every manager the club ever had, from Willie Maley to Ange Postecoglou.

Thought to be the club's oldest season ticket holder, he went to his first-ever game in 1932 and would regularly take trips to Glasgow from Lochgilphead where he ran an electrical shop.

He told the Celtic View that some of his fondest football memories include seeing the 7-1 League Cup victory against Rangers at Hampden in 1957, and he made the journey to Lisbon ten years later to see Celtic win the European Cup.

One of his early football idols was Jimmy McGrory, but he felt that Henrik Larsson was "right up there" with any player he has ever seen.

Peter's last game was in October 2022 when the club invited him to the director's box for a VIP matchday experience.

The news of Peter's death on January 5 has been widely shared on Celtic supporters' pages on social media, and hundreds of fans have shared their tributes to him.

He was a member of the Italian Celts Celtic Supporters' Group (CSC), who said of him after his passing: "One of us. RIP Peter YNWA (You'll Never Walk Alone)."

Robert Smyth wrote: "R.I.P. Peter, condolences to his family, how wonderful to have followed Celtic for so many years."

Alex Hughes added: "RIP Peter you are Celtic, fans like you put us where we are today."

Daniel Foy commented: "God bless Peter a true legend."
