A POPULAR bakery has been forced to close after it was targeted by a break-in.
The team at Honeybee Bakery in Milngavie made the devastating discovery on Sunday night after a passer-by noticed the damage and called the police.
Images shared on social media showed the shop window shattered and the window display knocked down.
The owner revealed that the till had been stolen and added that things were 'hard enough' for the business amid rising costs.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the bakery said: "Well this wasn’t exactly how we’d planned spending our Sunday evening!
"As if January, during a cost-of-living crisis, wasn’t hard enough for small hospitality businesses - having our window smashed and till stolen really isn’t fun.
"Thankfully the losses are minor, and we’ve got wonderful CCTV.
"Thank you as well to the passer-by who phoned the police; cake and coffee on us when we’re back open.
"Needless to say we’ll be CLOSED tomorrow while we clean up - we’ll keep you updated as to when we’re reopening. Team Honeybee."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a break-in at premises on Station Road in Milngavie around 8.30pm on Sunday, January 15.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
