A COUPLE are desperate to find the kind mystery man who paid for their groceries in Aldi.
Ian Johnston was in the Bishopbriggs branch on Hillhead Road on Monday evening when his card failed.
The 53-year-old panicked as he didn’t have another card to pay when suddenly a generous stranger offered to pay the £17 for the items.
Now his wife Louise Johnston, 53, is desperate to find the man to repay the cash and thank him for the good deed.

She told the Glasgow Times: “My husband was having problems with his card and was £17 short.
“The guy behind him offered to pay which has restored my faith in human kindness.
“With the cost of living £17 is a lot of money these days, people are really struggling, so we are really touched that he would do that.
“I would love to find him and say thanks in person and give him back his cash, if we can’t though we will just pay it forward.
“For a total stranger to go out their way like that is just such a lovely gesture, it means a lot.”
