A MAN has been rushed to hospital this afternoon after being hit by a bus in Glasgow.
Shortly after 3pm, emergency services were called to Union Street in the city centre following an incident involving a pedestrian and a bus.
Ambulance crews attended to the man and he was later taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
There has been no further information provided regarding his condition at this time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.10pm on Friday, January 20 2023, police were made aware of a road crash involving a bus and a male pedestrian.
"Emergency services attended and the male has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
A spokesperson for First Glasgow later confirmed the incident and shared their thoughts with 'everyone involved'.
They said: “We can confirm an incident took place on the afternoon of Friday, January 20 on Union Street when a No.61 bus collided with a pedestrian in the road.
“Emergency services were called, and the pedestrian was taken to hospital.
"Our investigation into the incident is underway and we will continue to work closely with the police in relation to this incident.
“Our thoughts are with everyone involved at this time.”
