A PERSON has died after a 999 response was called to a train station near Glasgow.
Transport officers and paramedics responded to a report of a casualty on the train line near Uddingston shortly before 6am on Monday.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being considered suspicious and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
We previously reported that the incident had sparked delays and cancellations via Uddingston before the line reopened at 9am.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Uddingston station at 5.54am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the procurator fiscal."
