Glasgow comedian Janey Godley is raring to go on her tour after having cancer treatment.

The 62-year-old will begin her 'Janey's Not Dead Yet' tour in Arbroath on February 1 and we previously reported that she said it would be her last due to the devastating diagnosis.

But the funnywoman was all smiles and positivity as she shared her excitement to get on the road after having chemotherapy and a blood transfusion.

Broadcasting from the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, she said: "I got my blood transfusion last night and I'm getting my chemo today.

"As soon as the chemo is done, I'm out, I'm away for a meeting with my agent and creative team and getting all ready because the tour starts tomorrow.

"I cannae wait. I cannae wait to get back on stage and as soon as I get on stage I'm just gonna feel so good.

"It will be the last tour I'll be able to do because of the cancer diagnosis, but I can't wait to get back on stage.

"I can't wait to hear people laugh. I can't wait to laugh myself."

Janey also thanked the Beatson, the NHS and everyone who has supported her during her journey, and she was full of excitement ahead of the tour kicking off.

She added: "The tour starts the morra! I finally get back on stage after a year and a bit. F**k cancer! I'm super excited!

"I could be Harry Styles' backing dancer, I'm that full of energy! I'll see you soon."

Janey was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November 2021 and underwent a full hysterectomy in January last year.

She was given the all-clear in June 2022 but shared the news in December that the cancer had returned and she would be requiring more treatment in the New Year.
