A search has been launched for a man last seen almost two years ago.

Alexander Reid, known as Alec or Jimmy, was last seen in April 2021 in the Pollok area of Glasgow.

The 43-year-old is known to live between Irvine and Stevenston in Ayrshire, as well as the Southside.

While it is not unusual for his family not to hear from him, they have become worried as they usually hear from him on special occasions. 

Glasgow Times:

Chief Inspector Derrick Johnston said: “Alexander, known as Alec or Jimmy frequently travelled between North Ayrshire and Glasgow and it is not unusual for him to be out of contact with his family and friends for long periods of time.

“However, he normally makes contact with his family on occasions such as birthdays and Christmas.

“His family have become concerned following no contact over a longer than usual period of time."

Alexander is described as being white, 5ft 4in, of slim build with shaved red/auburn hair.

Inspector Johnston added: “Even if what you know seems trivial or insignificant, please get in touch as every piece of information could help us find out where Alexander may be and provide his family with some answers.”
