Tributes have been paid to a teenage girl who was tragically killed in a car crash.
We previously reported that a 16-year-old girl had died following a crash on the M73 near Gartcosh on Saturday.
Police have now named her as Sophie Laing from Cumbernauld.
After revealing her name and photo, hundreds of people have paid their respects on social media including a bus driver who had a friendship with Sophie.

He wrote: "I'll miss you getting on my bus and having a laugh and your cheeky wee smile ill always remember you and keep the Xmas card you gave me it was a pleasure being your favourite driver and getting you home safely.
"I'm still looking at the bus stop every night hoping I'll see you there waiting on me as usual until we meet again... rest in peace Sophie my wee pal."
One person wrote: "Absolutely heartbreaking. R.I.P. Sophie, thoughts and prayers are with your family, and everyone affected, by this tragedy."
And a former teacher of Sophie's said: "So so sad to hear this tragic news. I taught Sophie in Primary 3, she was a lovely, kind girl. Sending my heartfelt condolences to her family."
The incident also saw a 62-year-old man taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A 42-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and later released. Officers are continuing to investigate the crash.
Constable Paul Mallon of Lanarkshire's Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with Sophie’s family and friends at this difficult time and we ask that their privacy is respected.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge anyone who may have information which could assist to contact officers.”
