The 61-year-old said: "Hi everybody, it's Janey here.

"I'm actually getting my chemotherapy right now.

"And I want to thank everybody who voted for me for Comedians' Comedian.

"I have not done comedy for a year, so I think you are very misguided but thanks everybody, this has fairly lifted me up and I cannot wait to see you all and I'm sure I will.

"To lots of my comedy pals, this is such a lovely honour."
