PARENTS in Bishopbriggs have been issued a warning after claims community wardens were "verbally abused" over parking.
An e-mail sent to parents and carers of children at Thomas Muir Primary School on Wednesday, February 8, stated several parents had been in touch with the school in the past week regarding "selfish parking" and "dangerous driving".
The e-mail, seen by the Glasgow Times, claimed that community wardens will be regularly attending the school to issue fines but they had been "verbally abused" by some parents when encouraging safe parking.

Parents were warned that any anti-social behaviour will be reported to the police.
The e-mail read: "A number of parents have been in touch over the past week to raise concerns about selfish parking around the school and dangerous driving.
"Selfish parking is making it difficult for children to access the school safely and could ultimately cause an accident.
"The community wardens will be visiting the school on a regular basis to issue fines and discourage this type of behaviour.
"Unfortunately, on a few occasions, they have been verbally abused by some of our parents while trying to encourage safe parking.
"I would remind everyone that respectful behaviour and communication around our children and our school must be displayed at all times.
"Please use the church car park or park further away and walk if you need to drive at all, and keep the front and back entrances to our school safe and accessible at all times.
"Any anti-social behaviour will be reported to Police Scotland via 101."
Ann Davie, depute chief executive at East Dunbartonshire Council, said: "We
are aware that parents at Thomas Muir Primary school raised concerns with
the headteacher regarding dangerous parking and subsequent unacceptable
behaviour towards our community wardens.
"Whilst this behaviour was from a small minority, with support from the
Parent Council it was deemed necessary to remind all parents and carers of
their responsibilities during drop off and pick up time.
"Our community wardens work closely with Police Scotland and regularly
visit all our schools to ensure the safety of our children as they are
arriving at or leaving school.
"Abuse towards our community wardens will not be tolerated."
